Email: PR@neustep.com PAST, PRESENT, AND PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS HAVE THE ABILITY TO “WALK-THROUGH” NMU FACILITIES BY USE OF TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPED BY NMU GRAD. Chicago, IL July 18, 2007 -- Northern Michigan University is the first university in the world to showcase their facilities by means of virtual walk-throughs, a property exposure technology developed by a NMU alumnus. The technology is known as NeuStep [pronounced “New Step”] and is based out of Chicago, Illinois. The technology was created by NMU graduate Raphael Bennett ‘04. Since then, Raphael has developed a team comprised of three past NMU students and others to keep business flourishing. NeuStep’s virtual walk-through presentation will allow past, present, and prospective students the ability to explore NMU’s campus and facilities from the comfort of their own home. Most people familiarize themselves with obsolete “virtual tours” when thinking of this style of technology. What NeuStep has to offer, that is totally unique, are its interactive virtual walk-throughs. A NeuStep virtual walk-through incorporates “complete movement”. With NeuStep, interested students/alumni can virtually navigate themselves throughout Northern’s facilities and explore all of their halls and rooms, travel inside or outside, and stop at ANY point throughout to take a 360 degree of their current surroundings. NeuStep is also working with the Lake Superior Community Partnership to create virtual walk-throughs throughout Marquette to showcase the beauty throughout the community. “Having graduated from Northern and building this company with other past Wildcats makes this a perfect fit. Of course we want to see Northern have the strongest online presence they can, and we see NeuStep playing an integral role in accommodating that,” stated Raphael Bennett, President of Operations at NeuStep. “Hopefully this is the beginning of many solid relationships with other universities. NMU means a lot to us, so we’re glad to be working them on this project.” Bennett added. Currently, NeuStep’s virtual walk-through experiences are produced both in house, and throughout their extended reseller base. NeuStep is a subsidiary of NeuCompanies based out of Chicago, Illinois.
